"Dr. Greg Baer gave me what I'd been missing in 25 years as a therapist. He explained the powerful and lasting effects of childhood wounds, and now I give every client and couple who comes into my office a copy of one of his books. You do not want to miss out on these principles that will transform your life no matter what happened in your past."—Liz Hale, Ph.D.
Have you ever wondered why
• you have difficulty maintaining close, intimate, fulfilling relationships?
• you easily get angry at other people and blame them for how you feel?
• you tend to over‐react to inconveniences and injustices?
• you often feel alone?
• you tend to avoid people?
• you sometimes use alcohol or drugs to "take the edge off" the tension you feel?
• you have a strong need to be "right" and win arguments or discussions?
• you have a temper?
• you are often mystified by the behavior of other people?
• you often have difficulty understanding why you feel as you do?
• people around you—spouse, lover, children, coworkers—seem to avoid you?
• your reactions to situations seem out of proportion to the event itself?
• you use your intellect, physical appearance, wit, and money to get attention?
• you often feel hurt by what other people do to you? Or by what they fail to do for you?
• people around you seem intimidated or irritated when you interact with them?
If you are like roughly 98% of us, your answer to two or more of these questions is YES, and you're confused about exactly why these conditions exist in your life. Anger, frustration, and loneliness are the most destructive diseases on the planet—by far—and we are not adequately addressing their causes and solutions.
Finally, in Real Love and PCSD we can learn about why we're angry and lonely, along with the real reasons we have relationship problems. And we can learn to actually eliminate these conditions.

Baer very clearly explains post-childhood stress disorder and the similarities to post -traumatic stress disorder. His description and examples gave me much to think about, including being more compassionate to others and to myself.Product details

Real Love and PostChildhood Stress Disorder Treating Your Unrecognized PostTraumatic Stress Disorder Greg Baer 9781892319371 Books Reviews
This book has the potential to change your life-- if taken seriously. I have to say, I suffered from depression for years and nothing helped me. I saw scores of psychologists, tried anti-depressants, motivational videos, and even alternative medicine and nothing helped until I met Greg Baer. I wouldn't have taken the book seriously before meeting him, but I have seen these principles work in real life and boy, do they really work. If you follow the suggestions in this book, your life WILL be filled with more joy as I can personally attest to in my own life. Give it a shot!
I was very excited to obtain this book and read it hoping to glean some very useful information out of it to understand childhood PTSD, but after reading for a while I think the author could benefit from sitting under the tutelage of trained clinical practitioners. The approach seems pretty touchy feely without getting to the meatiness I was hoping for. I just wish the author would truly dig into the details of the disorder further.
Exceptionally insightful and the most helpful book I've ever read
This book makes everything I do now make total sense. Now that I understand why I am the way I am I can work on fixing it. I love knowing what went wrong and where I can go from here.
A total healing and information insight to my life and my issues of not fitting in or so I thought I didn't really fit in. Now
I know so much more and can heal and feel really alive and great about myself!!!! Should get 1000 stars!!!
My Dad's mother died when he was 16 and not long after he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 22 years including a "tour of duty" in Vietnam. He had so much trauma in his life--no wonder he raised me & 3 brothers the way he did. Now, I realize by reading this book, why I've been hyper-vigilant and stressed most of my life. It's not his fault, just helps to understand the "why's" and what I can do to live a more peaceful & happy life.
A must read for clarity on where you are right now. Our parents did the best they knew how but still it left a mark. Understanding this helped me be more free from victimhood. The great part is the author is living what he teaches here. I was honored to meet him and see that first hand.
